Nancy Gilchrist MW is an enthusiastic and popular independent wine educator based in southeast England but she also has close links with South Africa where she teaches and runs wine tours on a seasonal basis.

She became a Master of Wine, the highest and most rigorous wine qualification in the world, in 1995. There are currently only just over 350 people globally who hold this title.

Nancy runs the highly-respected Christie’s Wine Education program and also lectures widely, including at Leith’s School of Food & Wine, Cordon Bleu and at many different corporate events. She has been nominated a UK Champagne Ambassador but is also a strong supporter of English Sparkling Wine and an acknowledged authority on the interaction of food & wine.

In addition to wine, Nancy is also an educator for both olive oil and chocolate and is a regular Grand Jury judge for The International Chocolate Awards. She has recently helped to set up the world’s first certificated chocolate tasting course.
